Dr. Strange has personally undergone laser vision correction, giving him firsthand understanding of the patient experience. After decades of managing myopia and astigmatism with glasses and contacts, he experienced the transformative power of clear vision firsthand. This personal experience deeply informs his approach to patient care and his commitment to achieving exceptional outcomes for every patient.
LASIK is a life-changing vision correction procedure that amends nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism to provide clearer eyesight.
Cataract surgery removes your cataract and replaces it with a new, artificial lens that you select and can restore or improve your vision
Photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) is a popular vision correction alternative to LASIK for people with certain cornea or eye issues. Dr. Strange is experienced with both LASIK and PRK, and these very similar procedures also have nearly identical outcomes.
Refractive Lens Exchange, or RLE, is a quick outpatient procedure where Dr. Strange replaces the eye’s natural lens with a vision-enhancing artificial lens. RLE’s outcomes are the same Vision Packages as those we have for premium cataract surgery, and this procedure prevents cataracts as well.
Dr. Strange is skilled in enhancing patients’ vision via EVO implantable contact lenses (ICLs), which are placed into your eye without removing any tissue for outcomes similar to LASIK.
Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) uses modern, often microscopic technology to safely provide long-term solutions for high IOP.
Dr. Strange is an active member of leading ophthalmology and refractive surgery organizations:
Dr. Strange believes that vision correction should be customized to each patient’s unique needs, lifestyle, and visual goals. Rather than offering a single procedure, Alliance Vision Institute specializes in all six major methods for permanently correcting vision, allowing Dr. Strange to recommend the optimal procedure for each individual patient.
“Every patient is different,” Dr. Strange explains. “What works perfectly for one person may not be ideal for another. My job is to understand each patient’s prescription, corneal anatomy, lifestyle, and expectations—and then recommend the procedure that will give them the best possible outcome.”
Dr. Strange is committed to thorough patient education and informed consent. He takes time to explain:
“I want my patients to feel completely confident in their decision,” Dr. Strange says. “That means answering every question, addressing every concern, and making sure they understand exactly what to expect.”
With over 25,000 procedures performed, Dr. Strange brings meticulous attention to detail and surgical precision to every case. His commitment to excellence is reflected in:
“The most satisfying part of my job is seeing the amazement on my patient’s faces after they get up from their vision correction surgery,” Dr. Strange says. “It never gets old.”
His bedside manner and genuine care for his patients are beloved by both patients and colleagues alike. Dr. Strange strives to be the doctor you want by your side through any procedure—someone who listens, explains, and genuinely cares about your visual health and quality of life.
Dr. Strange’s personal experience with vision problems and vision correction deeply informs his practice. Beginning in middle school, he struggled with myopia and astigmatism, spending decades managing his vision with glasses and contact lenses. The frustration of these daily obstacles—fogged glasses, dry contacts, the inability to see clearly during activities—motivated him to pursue ophthalmology and specialize in vision correction.
After undergoing laser vision correction himself, Dr. Strange experienced the transformative power of clear vision. “Waking up every morning and being able to see the world around me with perfect vision was absolutely life changing,” he reflects. This personal experience gives him unique empathy for his patients and a deep commitment to helping them achieve the same freedom and joy.
When not performing vision correction surgery or advancing the field of refractive surgery, Dr. Strange enjoys:
Dr. Strange credits his wife with supporting his entire career and considers her instrumental to his success as a physician and surgeon.
Thank you for choosing Alliance Vision Institute for your vision correction needs. It is such an honor you have decided to place your eyesight in our care, and I am excited to help you see to your full visual potential.
In middle school, I noticed my vision changing, and it became more difficult to see the teacher’s lessons from the back of the classroom. I had developed myopia and astigmatism, forcing me into glasses and contact lenses. Adjusting to the hassles and frustrations glasses and contacts brought made that time in my life difficult. For those of you struggling with poor vision, I can relate to your visual anxiety and desire to see better without the obstacles poor vision brings.
After decades of dealing with the headache of glasses and contacts, I decided to pursue laser vision correction surgery. Waking up every morning and being able to see the world around me with perfect vision was absolutely life changing! I am grateful to have the opportunity to relive that same joy with my patients after their vision correction procedures.
I have performed more than 25,000 vision correction procedures, and the list of happy patients include people who have traveled from all over the great state of Texas as well as my closest friends and family, including my mother, father, several aunts and uncles and other eye surgeons and their families.
Since starting Alliance Vision Institute (formerly Alliance Ophthalmology) in 2017, it has been my dream to create a world-class, all-inclusive facility, which incorporates an amazing clinic, laser vision correction center and eye surgery center. With the recent opening of our new 24,000 sq ft, state of the art facility, that dream became reality.
For those of you who have entrusted me and other doctors at Alliance Vision Institute to correct your vision, I can’t say thank you enough! For those of you trying to decide which way to go regarding your eyesight, it is my hope you will be able to experience the same vision correction miracle that my patients and I have experienced.
Dr. Strange is committed to advancing the field of refractive surgery through research, education, and clinical innovation. What made you decide to become an ophthalmologist?
Having experienced the need for glasses and contact lenses at a young age, I wanted to make a difference in peoples’ lives by correcting their vision to the best possible outcomes. My personal struggle with vision problems gave me empathy for patients and a deep understanding of how vision correction can transform someone’s life. I knew I wanted to dedicate my career to helping others experience the freedom of clear vision.
Do you participate in any community/volunteer/service work?
Yes, absolutely. Alliance Vision Institute participates in several vision foundations across the globe. We proudly support the Himalayan Cataract Project and the Guerrero Eye Clinic in Mexico, which provides medical care to the indigent population of Mexico. I believe it’s important to give back and ensure that vision care is accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford it.
What is the most satisfying part of your job?
Seeing the amazement on my patient’s faces after they get up from their vision correction surgery! It never gets old. That moment when they realize they can see clearly without glasses or contacts—that’s what drives me. Knowing that I’ve given someone the gift of clear vision and improved their quality of life is incredibly rewarding.
What differentiates Alliance Vision Institute from other practices?
Led by Dr. Taylor Strange, Alliance Vision Institute specializes in all six of the major methods for permanently correcting your vision, including all laser cataract surgery, all laser LASIK, custom lens replacement, PRK, and EVO-ICL. We are different from the single surgery clinics you may hear advertised on the radio. We customize each vision correction procedure to suit patients’ unique goals and lifestyles!
AVI is also a special center designated to conduct multiple FDA clinical trials for the latest vision correction procedures. This means our patients have access to cutting-edge technology and techniques before they’re widely available. We’re not just performing procedures—we’re advancing the field of refractive surgery and helping shape the future of vision correction.
Dr. Strange is actively involved in the Fort Worth and Dallas-Fort Worth community, supporting local medical organizations and healthcare initiatives.
